Let's Make A Deal

Ok, I love this show!  This show is a television classic!  The perfect show to DVR or Tivo!  Let's Make A Deal first aired December 30, 1963.  Yes- that long ago.  The whole point of this show is to give away prizes or cash and maybe a few zonks here and there.  People dress up in crazy costumes and hope to be picked.  Sometimes the crazier the costumes the more likely your chances of getting picked.  Obviously Wayne Brady has not been hosting this show since the 60's, but he is a great host now!  His co-host Jonathan Mangum is also awesome.  They are the perfect duo and are completely entertaining to watch!
So, just in case you have never watched this show before... let me give you a run down of how it works.  Wayne will scan the audience (usually by walking through it) and pick out someone (or a few people depending on what game is going to be played) and offer them the chance to play for prizes or money.  They will either win or not win, by getting a zonk prize.  The zonk prizes are usually really creative and hilarious!
The games are really simple and usually are games of change such as matching, rock paper scissors, and scratch offs.  Definitely not as challenging as some of the guessing games in the Price is Right.

I think this is an awesome show.  Even if people aren't into game shows, Wayne and Jonathan definitely do not fall show of providing pure entertainment for an hour!  Before I die I am going to go to this show and be a guest in the audience, and hopefully get picked!  This show airs every week day at 10 am on CBS.  If you are home, I suggest you watch it and if you aren't then record just one show and see if you don't wish you were home every day during the week!

  1. I too, love this show. I used to watch the original on TVLand. I think the currently aired version has not strayed too far from the original and I like that a lot! I believe that it is a good thing to keep classic television around!
