Let's Make A Deal

Ok, I love this show!  This show is a television classic!  The perfect show to DVR or Tivo!  Let's Make A Deal first aired December 30, 1963.  Yes- that long ago.  The whole point of this show is to give away prizes or cash and maybe a few zonks here and there.  People dress up in crazy costumes and hope to be picked.  Sometimes the crazier the costumes the more likely your chances of getting picked.  Obviously Wayne Brady has not been hosting this show since the 60's, but he is a great host now!  His co-host Jonathan Mangum is also awesome.  They are the perfect duo and are completely entertaining to watch!
So, just in case you have never watched this show before... let me give you a run down of how it works.  Wayne will scan the audience (usually by walking through it) and pick out someone (or a few people depending on what game is going to be played) and offer them the chance to play for prizes or money.  They will either win or not win, by getting a zonk prize.  The zonk prizes are usually really creative and hilarious!
The games are really simple and usually are games of change such as matching, rock paper scissors, and scratch offs.  Definitely not as challenging as some of the guessing games in the Price is Right.

I think this is an awesome show.  Even if people aren't into game shows, Wayne and Jonathan definitely do not fall show of providing pure entertainment for an hour!  Before I die I am going to go to this show and be a guest in the audience, and hopefully get picked!  This show airs every week day at 10 am on CBS.  If you are home, I suggest you watch it and if you aren't then record just one show and see if you don't wish you were home every day during the week!

My Fair Wedding with David Tutera

I love this show.  David Tutera has to be one of the sweetest guys alive.  This show basically takes brides that are planning their own wedding (usually on a smaller budget) and have these crazy visions about what they want to happen.  A lot of these visions are themed (poker, alice in wonderland, phantom of the opera, day of the dead- just to name a few).  David comes in usually a couple weeks before the wedding and changes everything.  He will take things that he likes and keep them or maybe tweek them just a little bit, but then everything else that he doesnt not think goes with the theme or looks good or seems like the bride, he changes.

I think that what he sees for each bride on her wedding is just amazing!  His receptions are off the hook and they are beautiful.  He takes time to get to know the bride and what she wants to see happen on her big day.  He makes sure that the bride puts herself first and understands that this is going to be one of the most amazing days of the rest of her life that she will look back on for years to come.
This show is geared more towards women and I think that if you are engaged or planning on getting married or engaged in the future, then you should definitely tune in for some good ideas... ESPECIALLY if you are thinking about having a themed wedding.  My Fair Wedding shows on WeTV all the time.  I don't know if there is a new season on or not, but it is great if you can catch it!  It definitely deserves to be watched and David deserves to be supported because he is amazing!

Operation Repo

Definitely in my top 5 list for favorite shows! I love all of these characters and although sometimes the show may seem scripted, I still think it is completely entertaining and I am always laughing.
This show is about a repossessing company owned by Lou located in California.  Lou's daughter Lyndah and sister Sonia work for him as well and Sonia's ex-husband Froy and a friend Matt works for the company as well.  All 5 of them are sent out to repossess cars and of course run into all kinds of characters along the way.

One of my favorite episodes of all time is one where Matt and Sonia go to this house to repossess some kid's Toyota or something and him and his friends attack Matt and bite him.  They are all crawling around on the ground like weird vampires or something and when Matt confronts the teenager that owns the car, one jumps on his back and bites him.  The funniest part about this was that Sonia was pissed afterwards that she wasn't invited to the party.  She even tells the kid when she drives off to invite her to the next one lol.  It was  her kind of house she said because the porchlights were all red and it was totally dark in and around the house besides for the creepy red lights.  Matt of course (who is a huge baby) freaks out and I think he pepper sprays the kids (there were 4 of them).  Finally they get the keys and leave.

People may think that this is scripted (and I do too sometimes), but either way, it is hilarious because if it is scripted, these people think of some retarded things.  Some of  them I dont think are scripted only because Froy has had a head wound before and other people have gotten hurt... Lou even lands himself in the hospital with heart problems.

Everyone should give this show a try.  The new episodes are on TV on Thursdays, but there are a lot of replays on TV no matter what day or time, so you are sure to catch one that you will find totally entertaining!

Jersey Shore UPDATE

Ok.  I know I tuned into the last Jersey Shore episode (Sunday, August 28 before the VMA's) and it was ridiculous like usual.  Sammi continuously is screwing up and causing problems in the house.  She and Ron should remain single for the rest of their lives, either that or they should both find someone who is just like themselves or someone that is obsessed with them WITHOUT being insecure.  They should not be together and quite frankly, if I lived in that house, I would be pissed at the ridiculousness that was going on because this is completely unacceptable.

The previews for this episode definitely made it seem like something crazier was going to happen.  Basically the situation knocked himself out and injured himself.  Then afterwards it made me mad because he is crying in the house because he doesn't think anyone cares about him, when in reality HE IS THE ONE THAT INJURED HIMSELF!  Why should the people in the house sit there and not go out for a week or however long he has to stay at home when it was his fault that he had to go to the hospital.  He never should have gave in to Ronnie's drunken attitude problems.

s/n: Sam is the one who should have ended up with a neck sprain.

I love Jersey Shore, I am just tired of Sam.  Ron shouldn't have been the one packing up his stuff, it should have been Sam just like the last season.  They need to stay separated and I am praying that they do not get back together during the rest of this season no matter how entertaining it makes the show.  I am tired of her and him both crying!!!

Keep watching for even more craziness to come!

Bizarre Foods UPDATE

When I was flipping through the tv channels the other day (in between a school assignment) I watched a really strange episode of Bizarre Foods, that was both nasty and interesting at the same time.  It blows my mind how people eat all these super different things and how some things are even edible!

Andrew Zimmern was in Asia (Thailand amongst a couple other places) and while he was being shows around with his guide, they went to a market where he was talking about bird nests (from the swallow).  Supposedly they are dehydrated and Asians make soup out of them and they are really expensive.  One kind comes in a red package and the other kind is in a gold or white package, and the thing that made me crazy was that the ones NOT in the red package were about $1000 US dollars a box because they were considered so good for you!

The grossest thing about this is that the nests are not cleaned.  Supposedly the bird's saliva is the nutritious part of this meal/snack.  Anyway- of course Andrew has to buy a box and have them prepared for him to try.  He does not get the one that is almost 1000 US dollars, but the red box.  He says it is not that bad, but the texture of it when he sucks it out of the spoon looks absolutely disgusting (almost like mucous).

Anyway- I just thought I definitely needed to share this information about this episode.  I am sure that it will show again on the Travel Channel and everyone should watch it because it's both disgusting and unbelievable.  I am still thinking about it and it happened a couple days ago!

Anyway- remember what Andrew says: If it looks good... EAT IT!

Jersey Shore

Talk about one of the best shows to ever air on television EVER!  I think me stating that I am addicted to this show is an understatement. The newest season just started last Thursday and I honestly think that I have seen it at least 5 times :) (my boyfriend keeps asking me why I continue to watch older episodes).  No matter when this show comes on (or what season) I will watch it.  Every single person of this cast cracks me up and I am never anything less than entertained and they have kept me hooked since day 1!

I don't even know what else to say about how amazing this show is.  It is definitely for people who love reality TV.  They are hilarious together and I think that without each other, they would not be the same (although each of them have hilarious characteristics of their own).  Vinny and Pauly D have to be my two favorites and the situation and Deena are honestly probably my least favorite.  Without each other Vinny and Pauly D would honestly not be as hilarious as they are.  They are always the two that are the most level headed in the house and seem to always want to have a good time no matter what the situation.
Their personalities are shown here and 2 1/2 words: T-Shirt Time :)

The words that they have come up with too make me die of laughter.  The one episode when Pauly D called someone a dirty hamster I thought I was going to die of laughter.  That was also my facebook status for the next 6 months and I think any time anyone made me mad that's what I called them.  (S/n: thank God Angelina is not on the show anymore).  They have come up with the term grenades (ugly girls or big girls- anyone they think who is unattractive) and Pauly D even made a grenade helmet... shown below:

Mike aka the Situation is a piece of work.  To me he is kind of creepy and always talking to girls that he thinks are hot, but that I think are possible grenades (maybe because he's drinking idk).  He is always trying to start problems and I know in this season that is going on now, he gets hurt... not that I would ever wish anything bad upon him or anyone for that matter- I am almost glad because to me, he got what was coming.  Deena replaced Angelina after she left for the SECOND time in two different seasons, which in a way was a good thing, but she calls herself "one of the guys" and personally I think it's because she looks like a guy.  She is funny, but I think she tries too hard because she knows she is on Jersey Shore... not a fan!

Sammi and Ron are finally not together and even though you can tell she wants to be back with him so badly, they have not started any drama with each other (only the first episode though- give it time) and they seem to be civil and somewhat ok living with each other.  They both seem like wayyyyyy more fun being friends than being together.  Whenever they were in a relationship they were always fighting, screaming, crying, laughing- they were like the most bipolar/disfunctional/unhealthy couple I have ever witnessed before in my life.  Terrible!

Snooki and Jwow are the same... entertaining.  Snooki is always getting herself into something and Jwow seems way skinnier this season (almost gross looking), but she is a beast so I can't even say anything bad about her.

All in all, the season has started out great and I think that everyone needs to watch this show at least once and I can almost guarantee you will get hooked (unless you hate people from New Jersey).  You can tune in to the Jersey Shore every Thursday night on MTV at 10pm (eastern time).  And please when you're watching- do the fist pump and keep your grenade whistle close by :)
GET WITH IT OR GET LOST!

Bizarre Foods

This show had to grow on me.  At first when I watched Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel, it grossed me out.  He would eat things that I thought were absolutely disgusting and seriously, it made me sick to my stomach watching him devour things.  Now- I love the show and I think Andrew Zimmern is just totally entertaining and the perfect host for this show!

So, this show really has no "point" I guess.  Andrew basically goes around to all these different countries/locations and tries different food.  Every episode he generally has the same type of "layout" I guess.  He has a guide in the different countries he goes to, and they usually take him to a market and/or some cool, less known restaurants in which he samples some of their specialties (sometimes gross and ridiculous things, other times somewhat normal).  He usually ends the last 20 minutes of the show with a big type of meal with someone's family or a group of tribal members or something in which he participates in a huge feast (usually an animal or many are killed).  Either way, the show is interesting.

Not only do you see how so many cultures interact or survive, but you get to see so many beautiful landscapes and so many different parts of the world.  One of the first times I really sat down and watched this show, I was totally shocked at how some places still functioned.  So many people still rely on wildlife as their source of nourishment and fire as their source of heat and energy.

Some of these episodes have been super graphic and some of the things he eats (gross body parts) are ridiculous, but overall it is a totally entertaining show and you learn a lot and I think that it definitely deserves a chance and people should tune in because they don't know what they are missing out on!  I used to think that the Travel Channel was boring, but there are definitely some super interesting shows on there that are both comical and educational- and this one is a perfect example!

You need to give this show a chance!  It shows many times throughout the week on a variety of days and times so you are bound to catch at least one show!  I am not too sure when a new season is coming out, but the old seasons are just as interesting/amazing as the newer ones!

Andrew is not afraid to try anything and encourages his audience to do the same!  In his own words (and the basic theme to his television show) ...

IF IT LOOKS GOOD... EAT IT!

Millionaire Matchmaker

Who wouldn't love this show?  I think it's awesome and I have it set to record this show on my DVR I love it so much.  Patti is a matchmaker (whose mother was also a matchmaker) and she specializes in matching millionaires and millionairesses up with their perfect match.

Some of these matches are complete disasters because even though she matches people with accurate and good matches, the millionaires have the final say in who they go on a final date with and USUALLY they choose whoever is sexiest or the youngest (not who best suits them).  Seriously, I have seen some hilarious final dates!  The way the show works is Patti sets a millionaire/millionairess up with a bunch of men/women at a mixer (usually two millionaires/millionairesses at a mixer) that are good matches for them in one way or another (some a lot better than others).  After the mixer the millionaire or millionairess then has to choose two people to meet with individually right after for about 5 minutes (called a mini-date) and after meeting with those 2 people, the millionaire or millionairess has to decide which one he or she wants to go on a master date with.  The man always has to plan the date (usually the millionaire in this case, but not always) and the female usually has no idea where they are going or what they are doing.

Some of these people (when straying from Patti's advice and guidance) turn out to be a disaster.  There have been some crazy millionaires and millionairesses on this show and it makes me think that when you have a ton of money, you think you have all the power and control and can basically get anyone that you want.  In reality though (and this is proven on the show)- this is not the case.  A lot of these millionaires and millionairesses have trouble finding someone to be in a relationship with because they usually find "normal" people who are after their money.

These are two of the crazy ones (two of my personal favorites because those episodes were PURE entertainment):
Shauna (on the left with the gun) and Stacy... Shauna had control issues and Stacy was just crazy!

Seriously, if you have not given this show a chance you need to.  The new season starts Monday, August 15, 2011 at 9 pm eastern on Bravo.  Although now that the new season is about to come out, they have been showing a lot of older episodes and I am almost positive that on Monday August 15th they will be showing almost all of the previous season (Season 4) like they usually do.

So take my advice and tune in and give it a chance just once.  If you hate it- you don't ever have to watch it again... but it might surprise you!!  Remember- money can buy love <3
